Overall I enjoyed the web design assignment. I have used weebly before but it has been many years. I think the first and last time I used weebly was my first year of high school. One thing I liked about the assignment was how we were able to use creative ways to fulfill the requirements. I think this assignment was a good intro to using something like weebly for later teaching positions or other jobs.

Diigo has been interesting to use and learn. It seems to be a lot at first, as there are many options and capabilities. The option to annotate, highlight, and leave notes while sharing to a group makes it helpful in collaborative situations. I can see how Diigo could be helpful in the classroom, as both teachers and students can share resources/information while attaching notes or important highlights.
The Participation Portfolio items have sometimes been helpful. They are usually interesting ways to learn how to do something relatively simple, but perhaps difficult to use/find without guidance. Padlet itself seems like a helpful service in some ways, though I'm not exactly sure what I would use it for in a classroom. Some specific activities/assignments could work well with the use of Padlet.
This website lists what will likely be the top education trends in 2023. It has more to do with changes currently happening and will continue to shift as time goes on. Many of these on the list are things I'm sure we will encounter as we continue our education and possibly enter a classroom of our own. Things listed include VR becoming more common in classrooms and museums, increasing remote learning, and more emphasis on vocational schools as students graduate high-school.

Caleb, great work on your website design! I can tell that you understand the concept of proximity and spacing by your website’s home page. Throughout the website, the blue text color was an excellent use of contrast against the white background. You did an amazing job at using repetition of style to keep the website’s design cohesive. The website had a good use of alignment, especially when using photos such as on your “About the Teacher” page. All in all, I love the overall site you designed!
ReplyDeleteHey Caleb!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the way you spaced out the website, it's definitely appealing to the eye. Consistency was clearly key when you made the site, as everything fits incredibly well with the template (if it wasn't a template, than you did an even better job than I thought). The links were catchy and the photos were certainly endearing. If I were an educator or student in this context, I would visit it without a second thought.
Hello Caleb, I think your website was a great example of using contrast within a website. Using big bold letters on the calendar page made for a great contrast and allowed for it to standout on the background. Also the alignment on the pages were nice, nothing looked misaligned or like it did not belong. The website is really pretty and the backgrounds make it easy to see that it is a website for an English class, which I think is very helpful especially for a student who has lots of different teacher websites they may be getting information from.
ReplyDeleteHi Caleb, I really liked your website design! I thought it was clean and well-organized. All of the text was easy to read and pictures were appropriately chosen. If I had to pick one thing to critique on the design, I would say that I wish there were a little more color on some of the pages! I liked the simplicity of the blue and white color scheme, but think students might be more intrigued by something a little more interesting-looking. Great job!
ReplyDeleteHi Caleb I liked your website a lot, especially some of the back ground photos like the bookshelves on the home page. I think they did a good job of adding color and personality to the website without seeming cluttered. The only thing was sometime the blue color of the text on some pages was just a little difficult to see. Still overall a great website!
ReplyDeleteHi Caleb! Great website design! I thought it was very easy to follow and well-organized. The way you used spacing really helped keep the website clean and concise. Great job!
