Blog Post #6

I have enjoyed using Diigo so far. Diigo is not something I have heard of before, but it seems to be a helpful tool for collaboration and discussion of relevant topics, articles, and research. I think that Diigo can be especially helpful in an online class, such as this one, to help make up for the lack of in person conversation. In the beginning though, Diigo did seem a bit difficult to understand but can be learned quickly.

Blogging has been an interesting component of this class. I think it helps sort of wrap things up for the week, or to reinforce the learning objectives. Blogging encourages the class to mentally process the assignments or objectives that we have reviewed for the module. It has also been helpful to learn about this blogging service along with how it works. It could be something that many of us continue to use later on.

One interesting Web 2.0 tool I have found, outside ones we have discussed in class, is PBS Learning Media. It is a website with material for teachers across the state of Florida, though I believe it exists outside Florida also. It hosts a variety of resources such as videos, lesson plans, games, and interactive activities for many grades and subjects. I think the site stands out due to the variety of subjects available, ranging from math and social studies, to professional development and engineering.
