When a work is copyrighted the work is now owned by an individual or group who has the sole rights to the work. The owner of the copyright decides how and who to distribute to, if it is free or for charge, and others may not copy the work. Although in some cases a copyrighted work may still be available for free, such as through Fair Use guidelines. These guidelines state how a copyrighted work may be copied legally to be used for non-profit education purposes in a limited capacity. It is important to review what a copyright is, and general Fair Use guidelines information in the classroom before an assignment. The teacher could go into further detail depending on the age of the class and the scale of the project.  There are some issues that may arise when using technology, especially the internet, in classrooms.        Hi EME2040 class,  Between Microsoft Word and other programs such as Google Docs, I have used Microsoft Word much more. I would use Microsoft Word occasionally for some projects in high school, but it wasn't until college that I began to use Microsoft Word regularly. It's also important to learn how to understand where the information you find online is coming from; who wrote the article, who published it, what bias might there be, where can you find other views? I feel these are extremely important and basic skills/outlooks to have when interac...
Hi EME2040 class,  I am an anthropology major and education minor. I have been at this university since the Fall of 2021 and will be graduating this summer. This class is the last education class for me to complete my minor, which I chose because of my interest in possibly teaching English after graduation. I also have an interest in working in my major, so I am currently seeking opportunities to both tutor English, and become involved in work outside school relating to archaeology.  I have used technology in an education setting both as a student and a tutor/teacher, although my experience with the latter is more limited. I have previously tutored English to English language learners at the local downtown library in which I often used videos, worksheets, articles, and quizzes I found online to incorporate into a lesson plan. I have also used online resources when I tutored math years ago. I am also currently figuring out the best ways I can use technology to tutor Engli...
